Default air in diesel

2002 Octavia 1.9tdi Lauren and Klement. Noticed air bubbles flowing thru fuel pipe toward the engine. Is this a problem as I've noticed the idling RPM varies between 850 and 1100 rpm. Think this idling variation may also be responsible for the car 'surging' ie when going round a round-about with foot off throttle, the car seems to pick up speed. Anyone got an idea what I should do?

Surge on going round a roundabout may be caused by not switching off the cruise control or traveling in too higher gear with the revs dropping below 900.

I have a similar problem in fuel supply but the fuel get through OK adn doesnt cause a problem.

Thanks for that - any idea why the RPM is fluctuating?

Seldom use cruise control and usually in 2nd or 3rd on roundabouts so don't think it's that. Any idea why the RPM should fluctuate?
